Lake Mead Las Vegas National Recreation Area- 라스베이거스 여행 레이크미드
As much as I complain about the fact the Las Vegas does not have any beaches like California, there is a nice like about 30 minutes away from Las Vegas. Lake Mead is a huge recreation area that consists of a nice marina, campground, RV Park, fishing area, swimming area and more!
It costs $25 per vehicle to enter the Lake Mead area. I believe there is also a yearly park pass that you can get which will let you access other lakes too, but I am not sure about the prices. As soon as you enter, you can see the marina on the right side. You can rent boats and jet skis here. They even have a restaurant and bar.
There is no fishing allowed in this area, so you can see a lot of fish just swimming around freely here. Especially since there are people who feed the carp and catfish here.
From what I know, there used to be a pier type fishing area here, however I couldn't find it on my trip this time. It looks like most people either fish off of the sand, or on their boats.
Once you are inside the Lake Mead area, there is quite of bit of area to explore. I think I didn't even get to see half, or even less than half of what this area has to offer. Anywhere you go, parking is very easy to find.
When I was leaving this time, I saw a lot people come here to hike. I am not much of a hiker so I cannot really say much about it, but it seemed like a lot of people come here to hike. All in all, I am really glad I got a chance to see this place. I am definitely going to come here again. A little more prepared next time. Maybe a fishing pole and even a tent to stay the night?
As you can see, there are people who come here to boat, or to camp. However there are people who just come here to enjoy the water and have a beer too. I am also going to look into the jet ski rentals here. I normally go to Laughlin to jet ski, but looks like I may have found a new spot!
