Bonchon Chicken in Las Vegas! 라스베이거스 한국 치킨 맛집-본촌치킨

Bonchon Chicken is available in Las Vegas!  I think they were closed for while because when I looked them up some time ago, it didn't look like they were operating at the time.  I tried searching for Korean Chicken in Las Vegas for a while, but came up empty.  A few days ago, I searched again and Bonchon showed open now!

Korean Chicken is not really different from other chicken, it is just the flavoring.  Korean chicken places are known for people ordering half and half which consists of half spicy, and half fried chicken.  Bonchon Chicken ( And a few other well known Korean Chicken places ) also have a garlic soy flavor too.  The spicy chicken is a little different from your traditional Wings which are mainly Tobasco based.

This time I went with the medium combo, half spicy half garlic soy.  I think it came with 10 wings and 5 drumsticks for about $30.  Not expensive, but not cheap.  I normally order fries to accompany my chicken, however since I was taking out this time and have to drive 20 minutes back home, I passed on the fries because I didn't want soggy fries.

The interior is really nice here compared to the other Bonchon Chickens I have been to.  I went right when they opened and there were 2 teams ahead of me already.  I guess we are not the only ones who crave spicy chicken at 11:00am.  Being that this is Las Vegas, there is a nice sized bar in the middle of the restaurant too.  Our chicken took about 15 minutes to cook.  I can see this place getting packed at lunch or in the evenings, however there is a nice little outdoor patio area too.

Now for the most important part.  Hmmm.  Ok.  Despite all the bad reviews this place had, I had to fill my Korean Chicken craving so I drove out of the way to come here.  Did it fill my craving?  Yes it did.  Was it as good as I expected?  Unfortunately no.  I know this is not a straight forward answer, but that is my honest truth.  It wasn't bad.  I probably will come here again if I crave Korean Chicken when I am in Las Vegas, since this is the only place in Las Vegas that sells it.  However it is not as good as the Korean Chicken places that I am used to in Los Angeles or Korea.  Even the same Bonchon chickens in Los Angeles tastes better for some reason.  I can't figure out what it is because this is not the only restaurant like that.  Other franchises gave me the same impression before too.

So do I recommend this restaurant?  Yes I do.  Unless you are from Korea or from Los Angeles where they have hundreds of Korean Chicken places to choose from.  We normally go to Los Angeles at least minimum once every 2 months.  So we normally fill our craving when we are in L.A for most of our food needs.  However sometimes when we are busy, and we cannot go to L.A for a longer period, it is good to know that we have an option in Las Vegas too.
