Anyone from L.A knows is accustomed to King Taco or El Taurino.
Although it may not be their favorite place, everyone from L.A knows of it, knows how good their red sauce is, and will get a craving for it randomly.
Living in Las Vegas, there really is no substitute for either King Taco or El Taurino. That does not mean the tacos are not good in Las Vegas, there are actually some good ones that I have been to in this area.
Lately, my taste buds have been liking Canonita a lot.
Canonita is located in the food court area inside the Venetian Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Not only do they have a sit down area, which includes an area right in front of the water, they even have a truck in front of the restaurant for the people who just want to To-Go an order! Very convenient.
The Canonita to-go Car in front of the restaurant is actually fully equipped to fulfill your orders! I was a little shocked as I thought the orders would come out from the kitchen, which is right next to the car, but I was wrong. The car has everything you need inside it.
There are different flavors of tacos you can get at Canonita, including Beef, Chicken, Fish, or Mushroom, and they all taste great! Yes, that is correct.
As picky as I am with basic foods, the different flavored tacos are just as good as your Asada taco. The tacos here are always juicy, even when I to go'd my order here, the food was still great! The Chips and Salsa was also a great choice here. The chips were a perfect choice for leaving in the room and snacking on while we stayed at the Venetian.
Canonita is a great option for when we are visiting or staying on the strip, however it is a little out of the way when we are not. So what is our choice for when we are not on the strip?
One of our favorite taco spots to go to is actually in Henderson. Mas Takos. Mas Takos is located on 4425 E Sunset Road in Henderson, right across from Smiths.
Ironically it is right next to a Del Taco. To be honest, I was a little sketchy about this spot at first. The restaurant itself looked sort of sketchy, and I just kept getting laughter over the drive thru speaker, so I was actually close to just leaving. However, I kept thinking about all the good reviews I read about this place on yelp so I patiently waited. Boy am I glad that I did.
As with any Mexican restaurant that we go to, we are starting off with tacos and quesadillas.
If these are good, we go again and try the burritos and tortas. Was this place worthy? YES! The Tacos were delicious! Cooked just right, tortillas were just right, a little bit greasy, but I didn't mind too much, you have to have some grease sometimes!
If there is one thing that we didn't like too much, it was the hot sauce.
It wasn't really spicy or have too much flavor. They asked If I wanted red sauce or green sauce, I will definitely try the green sauce next time. Mas Takos food was good enough to make up for the so so hot sauce. Knowing us, we will probably go here again within a week or so to try some of the other items on the menu.
We are so happy that we found a really good spot in Henderson. There were some other taco spots in this area that were ok, however Mas Takos definitely takes the win!
Please let me know if you know of any good ones around here. We have been to most of the major ones, before Mas Takos, we really liked Chile Caliente tacos Y Mariscos, however we don't live in that area anymore.
