As someone who has been blogging for years under various websites and languages, you will notice that since I was a small business owner for years, I love supporting small businesses. With that being said, as someone who knows a lot of small business owners, one thing that I do NOT do, is support a small business just because I know the owner.

I do know the owner of Rock N' Grill personally, but even if I did not, this spot I would still highly recommend!

 

Unfortunately, the last time we were in Los Angeles, it was a unplanned visit.

I didn't have enough time to wait for the Asado, so I had to take-out a bunch of other food. I was not disappointed at all, and if anything can't wait to go again next time for the Asado!

If this does not make your mouth water, you just might not like meat, and that's ok. But if you do like meat, YES the food is as good as it looks in the picture. We had a combo with different meats, and the Steak. All the meats had a different savory taste to them, different cuts, but equally as good! If the meat was this good even after sitting in my for half an hour driving home, I wonder how good it tastes if you eat in...right off the grill!

We also shared a Torta, which was made to perfection. If you don't know what a Torta is, it can be different depending on what country you are in.....however today, to us, a Torta is basically a sandwich. When it comes to something this well known, I think most people will agree with me on the fact that, when you order something like this at a restaurant, there is a certain taste and feel that you are expecting. In other words with something like this, we do not like surprises. When I go to McDonalds and order a big mac, I know exactly what goes inside there. The Torta that we got from Rock N Grill was exactly that! Meat, Mayo, Lettuce, Tomato, all on a bread that had the perfect texture of a good Torta!

Ceviche - I think even 10-15 years ago, a lot of people have never heard of this before. Now it is the opposite, and it is hard to find someone who has not heard of ceviche before. In case you are one of the few who do not know what ceviche is,

Wiki says - Ceviche, also cebiche, seviche, or sebiche[3][4] (Spanish pronunciation: [seˈβitʃe]) is a South American seafood dish originally from what is the modern day country of Peru, typically made from fresh raw fish cured in fresh citrus juices, most commonly lemon or lime. It is also spiced with ají, chili peppers or other seasonings and julienned red onions, salt, and coriander are also added. The name originates from the Quechuan word siwichi, which means fresh or tender fish

 

Basically, ceviche is raw shrimp and vegetables cured in lemon juice until it cooks. If you know what ceviche is and have tried it before, then you already know how good this tastes. If you have not ever tried it, you are seriously missing out!

 

And now for the Rock part of Rock N' Grill. As soon as you walk in to this place, you are greeted by this monstrous wall of cd's and records of your favorite bands. TV's playing various music videos and concerts, and awesome framed posters of album covers, albums, movies, records, etc.

The dining area has a decent amount of tables that you can eat at, while listening to and/or watching your favorite artist. When we were there, the TV's were playing a Dream Theater concert. The owner Roberto has always been a fan of Dream Theater since I first met him in 1999? 2000?

As someone who was born and raised in L.A, there are certain foods that you get accustomed to and cannot duplicate or replicate somewhere else. Trust me, I know this first hand after moving to Las Vegas, I get cravings for certain L.A foods like Dino's, El Taurino, Sung Book Dong, Park's BBQ, to name a few (Which have been covered on my blogs before). Rock N Grill just got added to my list of Must Eat restaurants whenever I am in the area. Good food, good service, good value, are always key when you look for a good restaurant. Rock N Grill has all 3.

As I mentioned earlier, the next time we are in L.A, we are definitely going to order the Asado which takes about an hour to prepare!
